Jamie Hahn Elected St Marys Ontario Mayor

Yesterday former Mayor Jamie Hahn easily defeated incumbent Mayor Tony Winter and Councillor Gerry Teahan to become St Marys Mayor for the next 4 years. Hahn took 53% of the vote.

Council will consist of Bill Osbourne, Don Van Galen, Bill Mustard, Gary Boyce, Margaret Luna and Bruce Symons. Osbourne, Luna and Symons were on the last council; Don Van Galen is a former councillor; Bill Mustard and Gary Boyce are newcomers. Current Councillors Rob Edney and David Cunningham were defeated.

Remembrance Day

St Marys Ontario CenotaphThere will be the annual Remembrance Day church service and parade tomorrow.

The Church Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Church and Jones St, St Marys at 11am. The parade from the Legion at Church and Station St to the Cenotaph will begin at 12:15pm with the Cenotaph service beginning at 12:30pm.

Alice Lloyd commented on the plaques in memory of the World War II dead in a letter to the editor last week.

Mark Czajkowski

October 24 St Marys Council approved the site plan for 159 King St S. Mark and Wendy Czajkowski plan on building a three-bay workshop. One of the bays will be used by Mark Czajkowski and the other 2 will be rented out. The plan includes 10 parking spaces and there is a possibility of future expansion.
