In a letter to the February 28 issue of the St Marys Ontario Journal/Argus, Hans and Elly Timmermans wrote:

Last Saturday night we were treated to a wonderful evening of coral music performed by the Redeemer University College Choir of Ancaster under the direction of Dr. Christiaan Teeuwsen. The pieces performed ranged the centuries and included ancient Latin pieces, such as the Lord's Prayer, as well as modern music by contemporary composers and poets. "The Storm is Passing Over" was an obvious favourite of the choir.

The acoustics of the Presbyterian Church added the necessary richness as the voices blended, first from the balcony and later from the front of the church. Dr. Christiaan Teeuwsen performed a solo on the organ while the choir caught their breath in preparation for the second part of the concert. We counted ourselves fortunate to have read the announcement in the local paper and were glad to have attended.

This kind of music connects us to the past and gives us a glimpse of the ways our ancestors worshiped the great God of creation and the God of the Christian faith. The obvious appreciation for the music these 40-some young people showed as they sang these hymns conveyed, to we who were listening, the reality of their own personal faith, as well as their love for music.

We would like to thank Brian Emery and the Presbyterian Church for bringing this choir to St. Marys and allowing us to enjoy such a wonderful evening.
