St Marys Arena Expansion to Proceed

Tuesday, March 28 St Marys Ontario Town Council voted 6 to 1 to call for tenders for the $16 million arena expansion project. Only Councillor Bill Osbourne voted against the project based on the funding of the project and the unrealistic timeline of the project cited by the architects.

The timeline calls for the project to begin before November's municipal election. The town will be fully responsible for the funding of the project which will give rise to an annual obligation of about $1.0 million per year for 20 years.
